With all the excitement around Toy Story 5, I couldn’t resist planning a Toy Story themed cooking class!
I welcomed six fantastic young chefs, aged 4 to 9, into my home kitchen in Thornton, Lancashire, and we had such a fun morning cooking together. One of the things I love most about teaching in small groups is getting to know each child and watching their confidence grow throughout the session.
Our first recipe was Slinky Dog Sausages. We wrapped pastry around some sausages, then stuck images of Slinky’s head and bum on using cocktail sticks.
Next, we made Woody’s Cowboy Chilli. The children helped chop all the vegetables, there was a lot to chop! We even added a secret ingredient. They all then helped add the ingredients to the big cooking pot.
To finish our Toy Story adventure, we made Pizza Planet Ciabattas. Everyone chose their own toppings before using little star cutters to make pepperoni stars a simple idea that was definitely a favourite!
A huge thank you to all six of my brilliant young chefs for making the morning so much fun. Check out our next themed classes over on our workshop page.
If you’re looking for children’s cooking classes in Thornton or kids’ cooking workshops in Lancashire, I’d love to welcome your little chef into my home kitchen. My classes are all about building confidence, learning real cooking skills and making happy memories through food.
