Today’s cooking class was Moana themed to celebrate the release of the new live action Moana.
We started by choosing a colourful flower and a tropical cup before making our own fruit mocktails. Everyone could choose from pineapple juice, orange juice, cranberry juice and coconut water, then mix up their own tropical drink.

Next, we practised our chopping skills, preparing fresh pineapple, ginger, garlic and chicken for our Hawaiian tray bake. We added turmeric to the rice, then made a fresh red cabbage and mango coleslaw to go with it.
Before heading home, everyone decorated their takeaway tubs ready to take their meal home to enjoy.
I love these sessions because they’re about so much more than cooking. The children build confidence, learn new skills and have fun along the way.

All of my workshops are held at my home in Thornton, Lancashire, in small groups, so everyone gets plenty of support. They’re all led by me, a qualified teacher, and I run a variety of different classes throughout the year.
If you’d like to join us, have a look at the Workshops page to see what’s coming up.
