Hygiene inspection day!

Hygiene inspection day!

I won’t lie… these inspections always make me feel the pressure! Even when you know you’re doing everything properly, it’s still a little nerve racking having someone go through every part of your business.

What people don’t always see is just how much goes on behind the scenes before an inspection.

It’s not just about having a clean kitchen. There’s the food safety folder, risk assessments, cleaning schedules, allergy matrix tables, safe methods of operation, checking the first aid kit, making sure the fire blanket is in date, recording how we collect allergy information from customers and, most importantly, showing all the ways we reduce risks to keep every child safe while they’re cooking.

The inspector was so complimentary, not only about how organised all of my paperwork was, but also about the fact that I’m teaching children to cook healthy recipes while learning how to prepare food safely. That was really lovely to hear, and it’s nice to know that all the hard work behind the scenes is recognised.

Running this little business involves so much more than people realise. Alongside keeping everything safe and compliant, there’s advertising, creating new recipes, designing booklets, buying ingredients, setting up classes, cleaning up afterwards, replying to messages… and about a hundred other jobs in between!

So today I’m feeling really proud. It’s a reminder that all the effort is worth it.

And if there’s one thing about me… I’ve always loved earning a certificate! I still have all of my swimming certificates from when I was little, so this one will definitely be joining the collection!

Thank you to everyone who supports my little business. It really does mean the world.
