Day 1 of Summer Scran School- Mexican Fajitas

Today’s cooking class was all about fajitas, homemade pineapple salsa and, most importantly, letting the kids get stuck in and do as much as possible themselves.

I welcomed 9 young chefs into the kitchen and honestly, they smashed it.

We started by getting everything ready for our fajitas, and there was a LOT of chopping going on!

The chefs learnt how to handle raw chicken safely, how to keep everything clean and separate, and most importantly how to tell when their chicken was properly cooked.

Chicken, colourful peppers and onions, fresh pineapple salsa and all the toppings, piled into wraps and ready to eat. Some were scoffed straight away and some lucky family members at home got to try their creations.
